June 7th thru July 7th in GWT - where's everyone gone?

75% of my 'best' pages, as reported by GWT, are reporting being up in both CTR and Avg position. 13% unchanged, 12% lower.

That has translated into 90% of the 'best' pages receiving fewer impression and 88% reporting fewer clicks. There's a whole lot of red in the imp/clk columns.

Am I to assume fewer people are online this summer or is there another possible reason for the increase in rank/position yielding so much less attention? I haven't seen this during any other summer, the site is 8 years old. The change applies to both web and images equally.

Where'd everyone go is what I meant to title that, but anyway, I suspect places has something to do with it at this point after researching all morning. google is become a place engine instead of a web search engine.
