'Drag and Drop' Google Reverse Image Search functionality

I found this by accident which means one of two things - It's not documented on any page I've used or I'm finding out something everyone else already knows. I bet it's the second but...

In Google image search when you hover over a thumbnail and it 'pops-up' a slightly larger version with details you can drag and drop that image back onto the search bar and a 'drop image here' message appears. Google will then display links to other sites with the same image as well as a similar images box.

Well done, and quite intuitive imo, I like it.

The announced this two weeks ago at the same time they announced the pre-render technology for chrome.

I didn't realize you could drop images from search results back into search, but that kinda makes sense too.

Google's reverse image search failed to impress me. I did a quick test between Tineye and Google and surprisingly Tineye outperformed Google.

We've actually used it to some good effect, finding competitors who have swiped some product pictures (in some cases with watermark - d'oh!) Tineye for whatever reasons didn't seem to find them.
