So I have a 6 year old widget price comparison website. The last couple of years I haven't given it much love because Google didn't. However the last couple of months, since the Panda update it has seen an increase in visitors, not a great amount, around 200 unique a day. But for some nice keywords that were converting.
Anyway, I thought I would clean the site up a bit to see if I could increase rankings by fixing soft 404s and implementing canonical urls for urls with query strings at the end (I was already noindexing these with meta robots).
Now a day after the changes, rankings for all keywords have gone. My site cannot be found anywhere!
All changes I made are technically sound.
Do you think these changes are the cause of the loss in rankings?
