Do my eyes deceive me or is there a further Google downgrading of .com site's in local "worldwide" search settings. Of 10 organic positions in a variety of search's i see approx 90% as regional tld sites , much more than before.

This is something a lot of people hoped for - and something Google has adjusted up and down over the years. It probably depends on the country. I just recently read a complaint that things have gone the other way for Brazil.

I'm not at all sure if they know what they're doing since it's gone very pear-shaped for my widgets in the .co.uk results, I am seeing lots of US .com sites who don't do business in the UK, and a proliferation of com/net/org MFAs.

A spectacular mess overall but I must stress for my widgets.

Here's what they have said:
~ they want to tailor the SERPs so each person gets the best possible listings for each individual query;
~ they want to know what you want, whether or not you know what you want.

We also understand that they are building up surfing history profiles for everyone.

So it makes sense to me that they maintain an ongoing track record for how each person makes purchases. That is, do you look for blue widgets and then tend to click for blue widget stores in your area?

Or do you look for blue widgets then tend to place an online order? If you do it online, Google will note that behavior.

So again, depending on each individual profile, it would not surprise me if some people will mostly get local listings, whereas others using the same query will get a wider range. That, to my way of thinking, is the logical extension of what they are saying AND what we know they are doing (or at least attempting to do).

That's probably where deleting regularly my cookies and history is screwing them up!

Anyway, I don't ever want anybody to serve me what they have analysed from my past behaviour what they now predict I want.

I can't even find my company name in the top 600 of their SERPs now however if I type company name + keyword...there I am, delete cookies, and then I'm gone...IMHO useless, how can anyone find or learn anything new IF they can't see anything new?

Bing and DDG are looking good right now.
