Hi
I really need some help here...
I have 2 websites
my first site www.exampletravelersmeeting.com is located on my server as my main site under public.html folder.
My second website www.newsite.com is on subdirectory www.example.com/public.html/www.newsite.com
I dont know so far if that is correct but unfortunately it starts like this.
Now as a result when Google craws my first site www.example.com is also index pages from my second site...
Example:
http: //www.newsite.com/widget.html
http://www.example.com/newsite/widget.html
If I make a robot.txt file that disallow: /newsite/ it will work or not?
Please help what can I do about it?

Hello mlao, and welcome to the forums.

First, it sounds like your server configuration for sharing two domain names is not what it should be. For well-informed help on your particular server, you can post in either our Apache [webmasterworld.com] or Windows IIS [webmasterworld.com] server forums.

As far as the current duplicate problem with Google, without getting into your server configuration in this forum, the safest suggestion I would make is to use the canonical link tag in the head section of all your pages. For details, see the article Learn about the Canonical Link Element in 5 minutes [mattcutts.com] from Google's Matt Cutts.
