Waiting for Panda in Brazil: act now or after the update lands here?

I'm from Brazil and panda is yet to be deployed here. According to some googlers it won't be long till we are affected by the update.

I've been following the discussions about panda here very closely and what I see isn't beautiful. It seems like you guys in the US and UK were hit pretty hard.
The one thing that makes me more unconfortable about it is that recovery's been taking a long time to happen and in most cases hasn't happened at all. Once you were pandalized, you are kinda doomed.

So, here's my question: should we act now and make the somewhat recommended changes to our sites (noindex tag and other "thin" pages, be less aggressive about ad placement, remove dupe content, etc) or should we wait and see what kind of damage the update is gonna do?

The answer seems pretty obvious (should act now) but two things make me ask the question:

1. the update is probably gonna be a little different here, since the market and language are pretty different from english-US/UK
2. maybe it wouldn't have made a difference at all if you guys had changed your sites before the update, since we don't know exactly what is driving the algo now

So, what do you think?

i would act now anyway in an event to clean up your site and make it more valuable to the end user and also in advance of the panda arriving. If i knew what i know now I could have started my work in advance but now its a waiting game

It probably doesn't matter what you do, but act now because almost no one is recovering afterward.

Regardless of Panda, if you know how to improve aspects of your website why would you wait?

Panda is simply the latest Google update. Google has been having updates for over 10 years and they will continue to have updates. You should try to generate strong quality signals for your website so you can avoid or minimize the impact of all future updates.

Noindexing tag pages, for example, could hardly be regarded as improving aspects of my website. It's simply a measure to avoid panda...
