i've got bazillions of RSS feeds on my site. i've got an events section so i produce a main feed, category feeds, venue feeds, artist feeds... loads.

lots of these feeds end up on other websites, which is okay. 99% of them link back to me.

i know all about dupe content, so i've amended the snippets so they only show the first sentence of the main article, plus some other info which doesnt appear in the article in the same format.
but of course the titles are the same, and most of them include an image from the main article too.

now i'm wondering if its all worth it. im thinking maybe i should just dump the whole lot, and just have one main feed.

has anyone else changed their opinions on RSS feeds after getting hit by panda?
what did you do to make sure it's not seen as dupe content?

In your situation i think it might be alright to keep the feeds up. You get a lot of link backs, which obviously ads up to your authority, secondly you did a right move to reduce the feed text to one sentence, it shall cerayinly cut down on your internal dupes.

londrum, I have not taken down my RSS feeds, but I have similar thoughts. I don't know. Are we getting dinged? I like to see RSS on other sites because I use my reader to keep up with things.
