Ok I never got hit by Panada well I guess the it doesnt make any difference to me as i'm pretty much not ranking for much as its a new site. However regardless of this, I was just wondering how many affiliate links from say Skimlinks would be safe to have one each page? I'm hearing that Panda effects sites that are over doing their advertisements. I read that Google recommends up to 3 affiliate links per page. Which in translation means Google is telling us that we should have up to 3 links.

"I read that Google recommends up to 3 affiliate links per page. "

Read where? Nothing to do with links. You can have one link, an image of 800 by 1500 linked once or 5-6-10-15 discreet links. Making money is part of the web, just don't overwhelm your pages with it. Just look at how many links /ads CNN has for example. [cnn.com...] well over 15

Yeah I agree with Walkman, I have never heard of such a "recommendation". Maybe you're thinking of their updated Adsense "best practices" from yesterday? [google.com...]

Here are their open-ended guidelines about affiliate programs (really a function of your content): [google.com...]

Yeah thats what im talking about it says

"Less can be more: While our policies allow you to place 3 ad units, 3 link units, and 2 search boxes on each page of your site, placing the maximum number of ads on your page may make it look cluttered. If users can't find what they're looking for on your site, they may turn elsewhere for information."
