Did Panda affect only short query terms, not long tail?

I was hit by a sudden crash April 11, its looking like Panda.

I'm seeing drops on primary keywords (Texas widgets, Arizona widgets, etc) of between 5 and 200 places. Still trying to discern patterns if they exist. One thing is clear: its a site-wide drop, not just certain directories or pages.

I am noticing that longer tail 3-word terms (Texas widget sales, Arizona widget repairs, etc) have lost only a tad 2 places. It baffles me, for I would have thought that a site wide penalty(?) would hit all searches.

I don't think the minimal change on the long-tails is due to a smaller search pool.

I am going to test more 2-word and 3-word patterns.

Have others seen the same situation?

Yep I get that as well -
2 heywords = nowhere BIG DROP
3 keywords = much better SMALLER DROP
4 keywords - just where I would expect at number 4 - VERY SMALL DROP
