Hi mates,

Does anyone notice any change in google crawl ratio during last 12-15 hours?

I have noticed significant drop (approximately 50%) during last 12 hours. For me, usually the ratio gets reduced for 2-3 hours in some specific hours everyday but today it is not picking up which makes me worried.

I would appreciate your feedback.

Googlebot was just recently in a crawling frenzy for a lot of sites I work with. It's not quite the same fever pitch today, but the lower crawling is not nearly so drastic as your report. Googlebot patterns change so much that I hesitate to read very much into short term shifts.

elearner, from my experience you can't worry about day to day or within the day variations. What we know is that Google deep indexes both before and after an update. For me Google was slower a couple of days ago (for about one day) and went nuts yesterday and today. This tells me that we should see, or saw, an update.

Thanks Tedster/Walkman for sharing your experiences.

After 18 hours crawling ratio is back to normal now. As I mentioned earlier usually this behavior occurs for couple of hours everyday but since yesterday it took too long that makes me worried.
