Guys

I have a strange problem, and really don't know how to describe it, basically i had a issue back in October 2010, looked and actually acted like a penalty (sharp drop in Rankings Loss of PR) in fact it was a very slight coding error on my part, resolved this back on Jan 8th 2011.

My home page is really weak, i can work on my inner pages and they respond really well to link building and any changes i may do, however i have been adding content on my home page and my keywords have not budged in the last 2 months, prior to my silly coding error back in October i had over 60 page 1 listings i now have 14 and nothing i do makes the slightest difference

basically the error was a missing Http// from one of my articles which forced my homepage to a double url of my Site, within 24 hours of resolving that issue PR came back but rankings never followed, i 301 the double URL to the home

Other than that do you think its just a matter of time till the juice gets flowing back or is there something else i should look for, I appreciated that some of the competition has worked on their sites and maybe over took me but position 1 prior to this and now page 3.

WMT don't show much and looks fine, i suppose what i am asking is there any good validation sites or server side checks that could be any good just to make sure all that end is working as it should as thats the only thing i do not have full control of .

PS UK Based site

Unfortunately, Google does not seem to be very forgiving of errors made by webmasters right now. I have seen ranking drops caused by: serving blank pages to googlebot for a weekend, misapplying noindex meta tags, and misapplying rel canonical tags. It appears when your webpage has problems, you lose traffic. Even when you correct the problems, only about half of the traffic that you lost comes back. One of my clients is still down from a mistake they made nearly a year ago.

At this point, I doubt that waiting will fix things. I'd definitely scrutinize for other factors at work.

Been doing that and still doing that, im going over all changes i made in the past, making sure all scripts and 301 are coreect, im trying to reduce internal linking on pages, i have no outgoing links at all on my site.

Each page is different, and as unique as possible, but its just the home page which is non responsive, ill keep working on content too but its no overnight fix,

Ill keep ploding along reverse engineer everthing i have changed, and continue trying to get some good links and content added.

its a little hard toknow whats wrong when you dont know what to look for,WMT's is clean just a few 404 errors there from old products, page speed is fine

i probably should concentrate more on traffic than rankings, my traffic is not far short of where it was before i had the drop, but i suppose its just me chasing those first page spots as i knew i was there prior

Thanks for the advice so far its much appreciated
