Some external sites are linking to my site urls that do not exist.. These pages are listed in my webmaster tools account as 404 errors (Page Not Found)

Is their any way to remove these urls from google cache or to deindex these urls?

The short answer is: Yes

The longer answer is: We've covered quite a bit of what you're asking about, including the shoulds, coulds, maybes, and should-nots in this thread: Google Is Working on an Algo Fix - to help wrongly demoted sites [webmasterworld.com]

Start with page 15 @ 20 posts-per-page.
It should give you some ideas and food for thought.

A simple 301 redirect from those non-existing urls to the appropriate places would harness the links value and help any visitors that come through it. Don't bother trying to remove it from the index, Google will do that not long after you set up the 301.
