What is the different meaning of all those web address...

On google when I do a search I see www.google.com/
and according to what is after the slash / I get different results for the same keyword...

#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=my+keyword
#hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=my+keyword
search?client=mynavigator&rls=en&q=my+keyword
Etc...

Could someone explain me the meaning and the reason for various results for the same keyword. Thank you,

tedster

There are a lot of possible parameters and value to understand if you want to be thorough. Mostly they are tracking various things about the particular result, as you have guessed. For example, they might record your advanced settings, or how you clicked on the left side of the search page, or whether the result was requested from a toolbar. The list of possibilities go on and on.

They can also be related to various tests Google is running. For example, sclient=psy apparently had to do with an internal project at Google using a code name "Psychic Search"

As a general rule, you can usually figure them out intuitively, knowing how you searched. You can also deconstruct the URL on your own (adding and subtracting parameterd) and notice what the new results are. And you can also use Google search itself if there are particular parameters and values that mystify you. Often there you'll get search results about exactly that parameter.
