I have just noticed that Google seems to be ignoring the below tag :

<meta name="Googlebot" content="noodp">

Anyone else seeing this? Only seems to of happened over the past day or so... I'm getting the ODP description being listed as the snippet even with this tag in place.

I've heard a few complaints about this, but on closer investigation all of those turned out to be a different source that just happened to duplicate the DMOZ description.

Are you seeing this on a site: operator result or on a regular keyword search?

What's really weird is that it happens for both the site: command and a regular keyword search but only on Firefox.

Switched to IE and it is displaying without the DMOZ description.

I was logged out when I ran the queries in both browsers.

We had that problem for a few months. Two times we tried to update our meta tags/description for the front page just ever so slightly to get the bots to come back and recognize that we've updated our meta description and hopefully register the NOODP tag at that time. The first time, nothing. The second time it worked!
