I was just reading how certain people say that they rank for singular and not for the plural and vice versa.I have experienced this as well.

In this context, I was doing a search for "Apple" and the first page was all about "Apple" the company. When I do a search for "Apples" the first result (and the next few that google artificially lists as part of its branded push) are about apple the company while the rest are about the fruit apple.

I believe that extreme strength on the singular term makes the Apple company's website to rank for the plural as well, beating the google's intention engine. But I do think that google is wrong on this (at-least in the cited exaample) What are your thoughts?

I agree - the brand name results have no place in the SERP for the plural word.

Going in the opposite direction, Google does do better on [window] and [windows]
