New feature? Country indicated in Serps

I did a search in Google just now, then clicked on 'pages from {my country}'. Normally that refines things so I know I'm shopping just in my country.

This time, on the second page I see " - United States" in the third line of a serp lisging - in between the green URL and the Cached link.

Interesting. Wrong, but interesting. Why google would put that page in there is beyond me after I specifically request to not be shown those results.

Not new, actually a year or so old. Can't find official Google blog post, but I am sure someone else can...

Yes, I have been seeing that for sometime now, can't recollect from when. As you mentioned, many times when you restrict searches to be within your country (non-US), it shows results from the US, and what more proudly displays the fact!

I try and keep up on these things ;).

First time I've noticed it,and I routinely search the serps from sites just in my country.
