Two Old Domains Same Niche, Redirect 1 or Develop Both

Hi,

I own two old domains from exactly the same niche. I have developed site A and it is ranking quite well with Google despite zero (new) link building.

I am not sure I can muster the enthusiasm to build another website on exactly the same topic and thought about redirecting site B over to site A.

Originally both sites were shop fronts, but I have rebuilt site A as an information resource and fingers crossed Google is happy with that decision.

Site B has a lot of pages with external links pointing at them and my question is... is it worth the time building relevant pages on site A to redirect them to or should I just redirect the root?

Without knowing the specific details, I'd say it usually IS worth the trouble to build equivalent pages and do a one by one redirect, rather than go with redirecting the whole domain to the domain root. That way you channel link equity deep into different types of content, and your entire site develops a more robust profile.
