how much amount of content it is necessary on a particular page to rank on page 1 of google,... i read somewhere that google prefers longer pages (more content) in blog style.... in my niche almost 95% of websites have 9000 letter count or more on landing pages, my website has 5000 letter count... but there is also 1-2 websites which also have same letter count as 5000 and are also ranking on page 1

would it be better if i also increase the word count?

please advise

It sounds like someone has given you a wrong focus. There's nothing like an ideal letter count or word count for ranking.

It's the content that the words deliver that matters. It's the quality that attracts links and visitors. It's the quality that actually provides engagement. Google is working to measure the degree to which you actually offer the kind of quality that makes your visitors happy.

So my advice is not to think about the sheer mechanical side of your copy.
