Being logged into Google causes search issues

I like to see 100 results per page when I perform a Google search, this ensures that I see more than just the sometimes highly unsatisfying top 10 results(places, shopping, ads etc).

The problem is I can't do that when I'm logged in, and I can't do it with Google instant on. Updating the setting when Google instant is on or when I am logged in results in my "update settings to 100 results" to be ignored, the default 10 is shown.

To see 100 results I have to log out of Google and turn instant off and then update my setting to 100 and I can see 100 results again.

The new problem becomes location however, when logged out of Google and with Google instant off I can't change my default location to be "U.S." anymore, I'm forced to see results from my city.

This has GOT to get fixed soon because it is EXTREMELY annoying.

I hear ya...I used to view G as a well-organized and searchable online library of information that was highly useful for research. A priceless experience to have for many years, no longer were trips to the library necessary.

Now, I see G as a misguided and controlling librarian. Sigh...I've been making trips back to the library lately. Disappointed and annoyed, here, too.

There's money in them hills, G, I'm just not sure that you are going about it in the right way.
