Hi Guys im fairly new here

I have been reading the forums over this last month or so in regard to the issues with some of the indexing issues at the moment.

This is a little selfish post as its about me personally but i think my issues are a little similar to some on here i have read.

Oct 1st my site took a hit, all keywords dropped, my main keywords were position 3 and 6 now sit at 23 and 34 most the others dropped from 1 and 2 to 7-8 (first page Google)even my local listing where i have no real competition dropped to position 2 from 1

Know what im uncertain about is this, i understand there are algo changes but would a site that was sitting solid page 1 Google position 3 drop to 23, could this be done by a penalty of some kind.

I initially thought it were a technical error as Google when i check my site says i have 143 pages indexed where in fact i have 3860

site:www.mysite.co.uk =143
site:www.mysite.co.uk/car =3860 (checking less pages gives more results ?)

if there is an indexing issue how long untill its put right i would have thought if the Big G made a error it would be quickly fixed.

3 weeks on i have hardly moved the site is so static,

The only thing i did prior to this was create a script that randomly generated some deals on my site, then i dropped a week or so later so i reverted my site back its original state

Thanks in advance

yeah, I had the same problem.

On saturday, positions just tanked and have not recovered since. I have also noticed that certain terms now bring up other pages for my website.

FYI - we are a UK website

another strange thing that I've been seeing:

keyword ranked on page 1

keyword drops in rankings and not in the top 50 pages

keyword ranks again on page 1 but for a localized site in Europe

I'm not sure why Google would index the localized version of a US site.

Hey, welcome to the forums, bkool45.

There are a lot of Google mysteries right now (as you can see by looking around the forum a bit) and geo-localization is definitely in that mix. If you find a clue to your particular mystery, please do let us know.

Same effect here at one of my students web sites:

2800 pages
Until last week, around 2000 indexed in Google.
Today only 930 indexed in Google

site:example.com gives 930

But
site:example.com/folder1
site:example.com/folder2
and so on togehter are 2100

All the site is own writte content with self created photos
around home improvement and energy saving in German

AdSense revenues about 60% down
