Few backlinks from Google, thousands from Yahoo

Hi, I have a website with 15 backlinks (google) and more than 5000 backlinks (Yahoo).

I positively know that there are thousands of links to my website in many different websites, as yahoo states.

Does anybody know why Google only credits 15 backlinks to my website?

How is it possible such a huge difference?

Google does not reveal the real number of backlinks to your site for some reason. That does not mean that you don't get credit for them. The Yahoo result will be nearer the actual figure.

Does google show the total number of links to the website as 15?

Usually google shows only a sample of the total number of urls in GWT.But it does show you a higher total.
