Hi everyone,

Before you guess, what i have asked please go to this link: [googleblog.blogspot.com ]. You will notice there is an image of shutter island search result.

Now here you will notice:
    Rating
    Stars
    Number of users
....

I often noticed in other search results: (1) Number of author (2) Number of comments (3) Last post time.

Now, can you tell me how to insert such information in a web page ? As i recollect, i read in googleblog that wrapping any div with a xml format provided by google will cause google show results in this format (i mean rating, post count etc. custom information). I forgot that so searching for this. It'll highly boost up my blog page result.

As per i remember, it's called "micro instruction" or "macro instruction" or something like that. I can't remember :-(

Please help.

[googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com...]

I think they are rich snippets. I know you didn't want people to "guess" but seeing as how nobody else has chimed in yet, I thought I would throw it out there.

Sounds like Rich Snippets to me as well. If so, you can also get a picture into the search results.

I have implemented the Rich Snippets code in one one of my sites a month or so ago, tested it out using the approved tool but nothing appears in the search results for my site yet.

The word you're remembering is microformats [microformats.org] - that's one of the two ways to implement this. The other technical approach is called RDFa [w3.org]

@ Planet13:

Thanks for posting first reply :-) Your link really worked and i was exactly searching for this.......Very good answer.

@ nomis5:

Google said they will never "guarantee" about inserting these information on their page but they will try to insert as much as possible.........Last year, I used to see these information a lot but now a days i see this less.......I guess this was highly abused for which they are now using this information in a selective site only.

You can test rich snippets' condition of your site here: [google.com ]

@ tedster:

ya...Planet13 helped me fully to recollect this..........Just to add, google's official rich snippet landing page: [google.com ]

There's a current discussion in this forum as well, which includes links to several other resources on the subject....
