Any ideas how long rich snippets take to appear in the serps after implementing them in the code?

Are there any factors which influence if rich snippets are displayed for a particular site? Number of pages in the site, traffic volume etc?

As far as I know the whole experience is pretty trouble free IF the code is right. And Google does now have a tool to check your code - [google.com...]

I hope someone jumps in with their recent experience. We don't have a lot of concrete information around what happened after the code was implemented for people.

From my experience, the wait will be long. Implemented on several sites months ago- have yet to see any results anywhere.

LifeinAsia - did you implement it on all pages or just a subset?

I've implemented it on a subset which is about 50% of page views of the site.

It was implemented a couple of weeks ago. All the pages changed validate using the Rich Snippet tool.

Nothing has happened yet. If anything does I'll post here. I'll resubmit the site to Google again in a couple of weeks.

Searching on the internet it seems that a lot of site owners have implemented Rich snippets with zero results. Looking at the sites where the implementation appears in the SERPS, they all seem to be large, probably very trusted sites as far as Google is concerned. The BBC etc.

For sites that use it and have the potential to get a small picture in the SERPS, Rich Snippets looks to be a huge bonus - if only Google would process the sites for Rich Snippets.

Thanks for that link Tedster! I just found a typo in my implementation :)

G was unable to parse hreview_aggregate :) Let's see if the snippets start showing up anytime soon. Will post here if they do.

We put it on all pages where they are relevant. If no rich snippets content, no content to markup.

I suspect that Google is only starting with sites with massive amounts of pages with rich snippet content (like Yelp).

A very helpful overview, worth checking out...

Who is eligible for Rich Snippets?
(as of 10/1/2010)
Currently, review sites and social networking/people profile sites are eligible. We plan to expand Rich Snippets to other types of content in the future.

There's also a section on why Rich Snippets may not be showing up for a particular site or page.

Matt Cutts just addressed this question in a new Webmaster Help video:
