How does the Google Algo Treat These Issues?

Guys - Just saw something weird and wanted to know how it works. I have a website that has a Google PR 3 for the home page. Thats when I use the www. however when I dont use the www. I see a Google PR 2. What do I do to pass on Google Page Rank to the www. version. And will it result in my site being pushed to a higher Google PR.

Secondly as I was going through my website with XENU I was removing a lot of backlinks. However there were some that said timeout and others that said no connection. However when I clicked on these links they did eventually come up to actual websites but they were slow in coming up. Will Google penalize me for having links to those sites and count them as broken and just remove them.

Thirdly Ive been told that domain age counts in ranking factors. I recently got a domain that when you check the Whois data file it states it was registered in 2007. However there are indications on the Archive .Org that it has been around since the year 2000. Which one does Google look at as Domain age, is it since 2000 or since 2007. (I know it not a very big ranking factor but every little bit helps right?)

These are my main three questions on how the Google Algo would treat these issues.

Much thanks...

The first question is abbout the most common type of canonical URL problem - see Why Does Google Treat "www" & "no-www" As Different? [webmasterworld.com] You can fix it with a 301 redirect to use only one version of each URL. At this point, since your URLs are apparently indexed both ways, be sure to choose the version that has the strongest presence in Google.

For the second question, Google is actually looking at domain age for the current ownership. When they see a domain is sold and its entire content changes, then they reset the age to zero.

External links that were online before 2007? Probably not for your site, since your whois only starts in 2007. It sounds like 2007 is your starting point at best - and it's possible your history only starts right when you got control of the domain.
