I made some changes earlier in the month to a few of my smaller web sites in an effort to increase the speed of the sites.

I logged into Google Webmaster Tools today to check on things and when I go into Site Performance, I see "updated on Sep 3, 2010" for all of the metrics.

What gives? Is this happening to other people? I wonder why Google is no longer giving us updated information. It used to be updated at least weekly from what I could tell.

Lots of reports about Site Performance getting "stuck" from time to time. The only thing I can say on Google's behalf is that this is a "Labs" function so it's not quite ready for prime time.

If Performance is now involved in the ranking algo, it is indeed a minor factor, as Google has been saying. But this getting stuck business can be frustrating, since the data comes from the Toolbar, and we can't access that on our own.

But we can (and should!) do our own testing, especially since the GWT graphs are a "Labs" report.

Same here, September 3. I think this is the first time its delayed more than 7 days.

If they're officially going to use site speed as a (small) ranking factor, the least they can do is keep it up to date to help webmasters out...

I have posted numerous times Webmaster Tools are misleading.

You can not make business decisions based on outdated data.

But I think they don't want to make it misleading, they simply don't have the horsepower to do better. Maybe we should sponsor a few linux machines? ;)

There is one report which is always up to date, it is crawl stats, delayed by three days.
