Availability of Instant to UK searchers not signed in to Google UK?

Is anyone seeing Google Instant in the UK for users who are not signed into Google? I'm assuming that Google Instant isn't yet available for the majority of UK Google users. As originally stated by Google, they will be rolling out Instant in the UK and other countries over the coming weeks and months.

According to Hitwise, around 3.55% of UK search visits are using Google.com, that's 3.55% who can access Google Instant. At the moment around 80% of UK search engine visits are to Google.co.uk, but how many of these visits are by signed in users? Are there any stats around that estimate Google signed in users, so I can then estimate the number of UK search visitors that can access Google Instant?

Good question, what % of people have a google account - my guess, and this is only a guess, is that it must be at least 20-30%.

I can't find any official stats on this....

I'm sure you are anxious to estimate the impact Instant will have on traffic when rolled out, I am likewaise, but one reassuring point is that most US based posters on this forum haven't seen much of an impact, so might be a lot of fuss/worry over nothing...

I never leave my PC logged in to any account except the internet connection so I hadn't realised that I could see it when signed in.

I've been seeing GI without logging in for a little time now [webmasterworld.com]. They did say it would be rolled out over time, and it is going to put additional load on their servers.

engine, you're definitely seeing GI in google.co.uk without being logged in? I guess you wouldn't have said it if not.

Have you seen any other reports of people seeing it on google.co.uk?

I see it without being logged in however on my laptop I do not see it logged in or not! I guess when they first rolled it out a cookie may have been placed?

UK_Web_Guy I realise it's a guess, so I 'guess' there's not much point discussing your figure or mine if I had one, but I feel that it would be much lower than 20-30%. I'm just thinking of all those 'normal' people who use Google in the UK, your mate's mum and dad, your next door neighbours etc etc, who must make up the majority. I don't see many reasons for 'normal' people to have a Google account, other than Gmail. And then how many actually have an active account which they login to while using Google to search?

My guess that anyone could argue with, is <10% or <5% logged in users - would be interesting to hear some more official rumours/predictions or real data!

Ok Youtube is one reason that 'normal' people might have a Google account, although still not a requirement to use the website, and would many of those be logged in when using Google to search?

Would be interesting if anybody had some stats.

Anyway, the US based guys on here don't seem to be indicating that Instant has made a big impact on traffic, so I would hope the same can be said when Instant rolls out across the board to Google UK

Yes it does work with IE8 that I checked. It's not working with FF although I think it must be my FF settings that block certain things.
