What the hell has changed - sudden increase in video results

I've been around a long time, I'm a major beneficiary of Google Search.

I've not posted here before, but I'm very angry. My searches in the past have produced "spot on" sites for enquiries.

"Oliver Sudden" my personal searches for "Fried Buffalo Wings" produce a huge number of YouTube listings in priority.

I don't want Videos, and I flatly refuse to watch them. I want "recipes" on a regular page.

Why all of a sudden is Google giving priority to video "garbage" on the internet?

I've been around longer than Mr. Google, I want better results without weighting to video rubbish.

Too much to ask?

Sorry for the rant.

I'm not seeing this at all for your query phrase - nothing but pages of recipes and one Wikipedia result. Are you sure you haven't clicked on the "Video" option in the left column?

However, a lot of online users do prefer video content to reading. SEO today - in many niches at least - does need to work with some video or fall behind the curve.

"does need to work with some video or fall behind the curve."
There is a nugget of wisdom.

Videos are a spice, too many youtube videos will ruin your rankings soup. It's been that way since the instant video site scripts made their rounds and is probably an algorithmic thing so use youtube videos sparingly for best results, or use the right combination of youtube videos and other content on the same pages.

I'm hungry.
