You'd think by now google would know that if I wanted to buy a customized widget I don't want a blank one being offered on amaz*n etc. Yet the last week or so they are once again dominating the results as are search comparison engines like the find.
I don't get it. If a user wants to find brand product yellow widget why would google suddenly think they want to see that widget at Amaz and not on one of the thousands of sites from which people have happily been ordering for years? From a user experience standpoint the customers cannot customize the product at these aggregators and in many cases prices are out of date. They are essentially mash up sites designed to draw traffic to major stores or sell ad sense in the lesser sites.
I mean is this really what Caffeine and the new algorith was about?
On a side note the example I gave of a buddies site a month ago with the brand name product search term that resulted in gibberish? It was fixed for a few weeks, now it's back to displaying nonsensical data.
I'm actually pretty stunned that they've allowed this to go on as long as they have.
