Hi all,

As you can probably see I'm new to this forum but I'm hoping to adsorb knowledge from you all.

I have been putting UTM codes on some of the URL's so I can track in Analytics where people are clicking (as for some reason the page overlay in analytics has stopped working for our site) but I was asked if these codes are effecting our internal linking; to which I did not know the answer.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks (",)

Welcome to the forums, emmab21. Could you explain in a bit more detail what you mean by affecting your internal linking? I'm not clear on the question - what kind of effects are you concerned about?

Basically I think what my CEO was worried about was the Google would see appliedlanguage/quote.aspx and appliedlanguage/quote.aspx?=ut as two different pages and therefore possibly penalised for duplicate content.

When I say internal linking strategy, I refer to issues such as:

1. Insure that your website gets properly spidered and that all pages are found by the search engines
2. Build the relevancy of a page to a keyword phrase
3. Increase the PageRank of an internal page
