I was glossing over recent server stats to spot any problems before they happen and I noticed Googlebot visited several times 2 days ago but only visited a handful of pages each time. Despite only visiting a handful of pages the total time spent on site was between 22 and 30 minutes per visit.
I found the pattern odd. Also of interest(I was curious) is that most of the pages it crawled have moved up in serps from pages 2 and 3 to page 1. what I want to know is... was the slow crawl and subsequent rank improvement a coincidence? Was Googlebot performing some type of quality checks against a data center? Other reasons it may have taken it's time?
