I have 2 websites let's start with the first one www.xyz.com. Over the last 6 months I have built links to it with a variety of anchor text ( 70 % of one anchor text and 30 % of the other ), I have multiplied the number of link by about 5. I had about 30 to start with... so I now have about 250 links...
On the 3 keyword terms I am targeting, I haven't moved a spot in the last 6 months.. ( I am still ranked where I was 6 months ago )
On a 2 keyword term I was originally on the 4 th page before doing my links and for the last 5 months every week I move around between the 4 th page and the 8 th page... and can't find a reason for that other that the fact that google is giving more importance to one factor one day and less importance to another factor the other day...
or the fact that is giving me a penalty ...
I have read on line there is " Strong evidence that google has introduced some new automatic over optimisation filters into their algorithm in may 2010 "
However, I have a hard time believing it could be the backlink profil looking unatural because shouldn't my ranking on 3 keyword terms also move ? and it hasn't moved ( ever )
How about all those websites that rank 1 st for a a keyword with an " unatural backling profil " ( even though there profil was probably natural if they did everything years ago before the new filters got put in place ) shouldn't they be gone and replaced by new websites ( but they don't seem to move even though their profil is unatural... )
My thinking is either that google hasn't done any update of anything in 6 months and is playing around until some day they decide to update ! ( Hopefully it will be before 2050 :) or that I really got hit by a penalty ?
Let me know tell you what happened with my other website because that could explain something ...
I have another website with the keyword I go for in my web address www.mykeyword.com and all the links I have created have the keyword of my web address ( my keyword ) in it and about a week ago it finally moved for being nowhere to being 2 nd on google for that keyword ( it is a 3 keyword term )
Why would this 2 nd website move up in the rankings and why would the other not move up ?
