Different Results Between Two Browser Tabs

Ok, explain this, I have just searched for my site's main term using Firefox, it is at position 3.

I then opened another tab in Firefox and inputted the same query, this time the site is at number 9 - and all the other sites listed are also different.

I have been repressing search for the past 15 minutes and i cannot change the results, surely they should be the same?

First thing I'd look at is whether both searches tapped into the same Google IP address. Then there's this time of day thing, where some results seem to shift every 4 or 8 hours, then go through a similar cycle the next day. So you might have been right on the cusp of that.
