Is anyone else seeing this weirdness in WMT ? When i look at the top search queries among the normal keyword combos i am seeing a lot of widgetshere.com, i gotwidgets.com evenmorewidgetsthanthat.com etc etc.
What is strange is none of these are popular enough sites that someone would search for their name like that. Its like if 5% of the traffic here came from people keying in evenmorewebmasters.com, what would you conclude. I am stumped yet i'm sure its a simple yet slimy sabatoge technoque, i just don't understand it.

I'm wondering if this is related to another topic that was just started - Google showing keyword-similar domain holding pages in SERPs [webmasterworld.com].

Do these competitor domain names contain one of the same keywords that your domain name does?

They typically contain keywords i've been targetting, eg) bluemetalwidgets.com. My domain name has none of these, just several pages about blue metal widgets, so that doesnt seem to relate. I figure its possible it might be the after effects of them doing a press release or something but I don't want to assume to much either way.
