Tom, welcome to Webmaster World.

Assuming everything else is the same (no changes in title tags, content etc.), I cannot see how your rankings would be affected.

Last December, we moved our site to a server across the country with an IP address not even closely resembling the previous one and we experienced no changes in ranking at all.

The search engines are domain based, not IP based.

They undoubtedly look at IP ranges when considering interlinking among sites... to see if you might be getting lots of inbound links from other sites you control... but in general a change of IP shouldn't hurt you.

A change of CPU or hard drive or memory chips or power supply, or all of the above... without a change of IP... should hurt you even less.
