It seems that indexing across most of the internet all but came to a stop yesterday 6/28 at about noon. Something must be brewing....

11am PST showed a sharp decrease followed by a complete halt by 1pm PST yesterday (the 28th of June.)

Brace yourselves.

Same here, very little Gbot activity yesterday after a sharp rise early 28th, then today (GMT) nowhere to be seen. All signs are of abnormality everywhere, this usually indicates a major change!

The calm before the major storm!

I think Google is running out of money :-). Their stock is tanking. Don't have the resources to index the big web I think. [google.com...]

Gbot has disappeared from my site.

seeing same thing here... the pattern was dead a week ago, 2 month high this last week, then dead again since yesterday. Also noticing that new pages made it into the index thur/fri almost instantly (like 10 minutes after creation), then were gone by the weekend, then back off and on... these guys are having major issues (intentional or not) with their datasets, folks. There's at least 2 very distinct results I get randomly (?) throughout the day... and they are NOTHING alike.

I can report the same, after record breaking crawling on 6/25-6/27.

Hopefully my pages will finally make it into the index.

I agree with it.

I don't think they will be any more storms. If by storm you mean, things as they were before March or May. We have a new Google and apparently everything is working just right to them, per Matt Cutts' statements. I'm also afraid that the adblock at the top of the organic results are there to stay.

Same here: back at 0750 GMT after an almost complete disappearance for 36 hours...

She came back for us around 2AM PST on the 30th. Holding our breath to see what chaos this clearly BIG problem/issue/upgrade unleashes. To turn OFF gbot for the better part of a day for at least a good swath of the 'net is nothing to sneeze at.

Googlebot went mia now on our site like it did a few weeks ago. Went from thousands of hits a hour to 30 total hits in 24 hours. And as of this morning things are looking back to normal.

Whatever they are working on its pretty big.

Not me. No SERP changes or increase in traffic. Gbot is back.

Seeing little less than normal bot traffic currently. However it's picking up by the hour.

Anyone seeing evidence of another universal crawling break, or is it just me this time? Huge drop at around 0100 GMT 9th July.

This last with Gbot, have hit my site second time ... first time I have lose about 30 (15 000 unique visitors), this time I have again lose about 10 000 ... I now fear what will happen if Gbot stop again ...

I noticed at the end of June that GBot activity was down for one of my websites and has been for 2 weeks since. The website is 2 years old (.co.uk) and this is the longest that the activity has been low, 2 days is my longest before another spike by GBot occurs.

This website is only 260 pages and average pages downloaded per day is approx 160 as reported by WMT, That now is about 10 pages per day for 2 weeks continuous. Furthermore, pages have been reducing very slowly over the last 4-5 days, but I have read here that the site: operator is not very reliable these days? Over the last 5 days I have been losing 6 or 7 pages per day. Is this a result of lack of GBot activity to my inner pages?

I was hoping that this is a rare occurrence - then I came across this thread with a hint of optimism that things that are going wrong will soon be put right again.

I would like to add that my homepage consists of about 10 links (Coincidence?). My inner pages are 2 tiers deep but internal linking is not too bad so they should be found easily.
