.
Here are the results of the indexing speed of 3 new files that I have recently created -

- - - - - - - - - - BING - - - Google - Yahoo
File 1 - May 05 - not yet - not yet- 6 days
File 2 - May 10 - not yet - 5 days - 5 days
File 3 - May 21 - not yet - 2 days - 4 days

Conclusions -
Bing is very slooowww to index new files - yet their cache of existing files is the most recent.
Yahoo is excellent at indexing new files - yet their cache of existing files is 2 MONTHS OLD!.
Google is flaky? The 2 days and 5 days response are EXCELLENT, but where is file 1 after 21 days?

I though that you folks might get a kick out of this - another data point, to compare with your recent experience.

It's really courses for horses, I think. Some established sites are getting their new content indexed REALLY fast, and others wait for days or weeks.

Google indexes new content on my site within 5-10 minutes usually. I haven't gauged the freshness of other search engines yet.

I think at least with Google, more backlinks translates to faster indexing.
