When i search a key phrase related to my friend in google, it is showing some negative information related to my friend, how can i put down or remove that info?

Main problem is, that info is coming form one of the press release website, so we don't have any option to use webmaster toll or robot.txt to nofollow that press release web page.

is there any way to move down or remove it form google. Press release post was published in 2004 that is showing wrong info. plz suggest me if any one can give expert tips for this....

Thanks

This is something people call "reputation management". One common way to deal with it is to make sure that lots of positive or at least neutral information is also available around the web. Once it is ranking it can push the negative entry lower in the results.

In addition, if the information on that old press release page is inaccurate, you should try the direct approach - get in touch with the publisher and point out the errors in a friendly way. I've dealt with a bit of this kind of thing, and I find that a direct and friendly personal approach can work wonders. Automated technical solutions are not the only thing going for us.
