Matt says Caffeine is still only live at one data center. Will probably (his guess) roll out to a second data center soon - one that Europe commonly hits.

Also said that nothing went wrong - they're just being cautious because an infrastructure change is so massive.

The live broadcast is now over - I heard nothing else that wasn't a re-run of earlier communications from Matt or on one of the Google blogs. I assume the live broadcast will be archived and available soon.

That was an archive - I recall the video being discussed in one of the really long Google threads on here. The spam comments below the video are from March which might help date it.

You're right - I should have been quicker on the uptake. The Caffeine comments did not sound right to me. The spam was really funny to see, too.

So how widespread is caffine now? Has it been fully rolled out?

Hilarious in regards to the spam!

There's been no official announcement from Google - but the consensus in the SERP Changes thread [webmasterworld.com] is that Caffeine is pretty widespread - but not 100% worldwide

How live is this, today or?

So far he says just one DC and soon Europe might get one.

Edit: Looks like this from March 4th

sorry for the premature topic, I was following a lead from another poster...it looked live at the time. They should have clipped the lengthy & casual pre chatter and mike check.

Caffeine is a major change to Google's infrastructure - first announced to the public last summer and slowly rolling out since then. For more information, start here: [webmasterworld.com...]

That's really cheered my day up! I haven't laughed much recently and that broke a very serious day up. Thanks seoN00B.

Here I am tearing what's left of my hair out for the past 4 weeks trying to plan for the uncertain future and I had forgotten that hardly anyone in the real world knows about this virtual earthquake destroying businesses. I don't know why I laughed really, but I did ...
