How many "nofollow" links can be used on a particular page and will it affect my page rank in any way ?

Regardless of follow or nofollow there is no limit although search engines may discount pages with many links and a high proportion of anchor to other text. So a page that just consists of links will probably not rank as well as a page with a short unlinked description after each link. That is based on an observation of the SERPS for two sites in the same niche providing the same directory function, one with additional content and one without. I "rescued" a link page in the SERPS once by taking the links off the text and putting in clickable buttons beside the text instead. Probably didn't help PR transmission but it helped the page to rank.
There is no particular benefit or otherwise from when it comes to transmitting or retaining page rank in using nofollow rather than follow. Theis is a fairly recent change and you will no doubt find a lot of outdated SEO advice on the benefits of nofollow for PR sculpting.
