I have websites with a UK domain and they rank decently on Google.co.uk. However my competitors rank on google.co.uk and also on google.com, whereas I dont. They too are registered in UK bu manage to rank in top 20 on google.com. Can someone help?

Ranking in the country specific Google domains depends on the popularity of your site in those countries. If a site has a lot of links from the US or from several countries in the world, it will be easier to rank that site in the global google.com than when links are almost exclusively coming from sites in the UK. It may therefore be that your competitors have links from other sources than you, which could explain the difference.
