Google personalised results and this Caffeine nonsense is messing up my domain sales!

It's common to post the rankings your website has for good keywords. Problem is, whatever I post, nearly everyone viewing says they see it ranking somewhere else ... or not at all!

Anyone else suffering from this drawn-out Caffeine roll out?

Well, as you're seeing, it is way too problematic. It was so even before Caffeine!

The biggest challenge Caffeine is giving me is explaining the varied rankings to business owners - especially those who are just now getting clued into SEO for the first time. I've long been focused on traffic and conversions over rankings. Now that message needs to penetrate even more.

You could turn this to your advantage I'd have thought. Show them the traffic numbers rather than the rankings. If they then see decent traffic from what they think are rubbish rankings....bingo! Quids in! ;-)

because that's where money is, if I may add.

I also noticed that increase in human keywords related traffic from other that BGY sources and 20-50% boost in conversion rate noticed by analytics helps to fix the ranking problem.

It's now a job skill to:
- explain how to turn personalization off
- explain geolocation gives everyone different results
- find a online anonymizer where the company normally ranks average or better and include links to the proxy page saying this is a good guide for the real/average/normal rank of pages
