I am noticing that my site's title in the serps is the site-wide anchor text that I have on my site - "Discount Widgets Home".

Has anyone ever seen this?

It's usually a sign that the title element isn't technically available to Google -- or in rare cases, that it is irrelevant to the search terms that were used.

If the title isn't technically available to Google, it could be because there's a data bug on their side of things. It could also be that there some bogus robots.txt, robots meta tag, or even a coding error with the title element itself.

What happens when you search for your exact page title "quoted" does it still show the anchor as title?
