How can I upgrade PageRank for my site

Well i am beginner in SEO job. but as you know no one can expert in it. i also done my implementation after getting my site in 1 page in google. but now i want to upgrade my PR. so i start a work now and trying to linking with high PR rank sites like this where we discuss. its PR Is 7 because this is very old and SEO friendly forum and it linked with high PR Sites. now i want to ask 1 think .. when we leave our link to any high PR sites then can that impacted on our site ? or it help search engine to reserved our site for next level ?

Hello Feronso, and welcome to the forums.

It's very unlikely you will do your site much good with links that you can "leave" somewhere on the web. Maybe just a little bit - but you also might do some damage if you don't understand what Google is looking for.

Your first step should be to get a better understanding of the whole situation -- what real PageRank is, what the PageRank you see on the toolbar is, how different kinds of links to your site are used (or ignored) in the calculation, and so on.

There's a good current discussion here about the recent PageRank Update [webmasterworld.com] - yes, even though Google continually calculated real PR, what we see on the toolbar is only changed about 4 times a year.
