Please bear with me on this one...
Today, I've noticed some very odd behaviour on the Google SERPs. For a certain query, the same snippet is returned twice! The first listing, which is on first position, is an ordinary result and links to a page containing a video and some descriptive text. The second listing, which is on fifth position, shows a thumbnail of a video, some meta information on the video (non-youtube) and the same meta snippet as shown on first position (also a 'relevant videos link).
Here's the strange part; these two listings are of the exact same page! The URL is different, but it clearly is a matter of duplicated content due to poor URL structuring. Apparently, Google stores its 'rich' results (snippets with a thumbnail of some sorts) in a separate index and does not cross-reference these two indices as they are merged into a SERP.
Shwoing the same page twice does not strike me as particularly user-friendly!
