Reconsideration Request Oddities

Hi all, how would you guys read into this if you think I should care about it at all:

Multiple sites lost traffic (badly) two weeks ago. I deleted some spam pages thinking it might have contributed to the issue and submitted reconsideration requests. Some of those spam pages were linked to from bunch of spam sites although I did not link out to any of those.

Anyways, 4 recon requests were submitted 1 per day.

Today I have received two notices that the recon requests have been processed.

Here are the oddities:

#1 - the notices showed up in my WMT account today but they are dated 03/26/2010 - three days ago. I did not miss them that day. After the problem occurred I practically live in my WMT account and there were other, supposedly more recent messages that I've read.

#2 the notices are about the most recent requests. Two of the older requests have apparently not been processed or at least not responded to.

There have been no apparent changes in Google traffic. If anything, it was unnaturally stable (no usual weekdays/weekends changes) as if it's just throttled down to 10% of the old level.

Anyone has an idea of why the notices have been delayed?

What do you make of a recon request that hasn't been processed yet more recent ones have? Nothing to report about or the underlying problem hasn't been fixed?

This just drives me nuts - I have 10+ sites axed on the same day yet there is very little that connects them or is similar between them. I thought this spam thing might be the closest thing that ties them together 'cause I'm finding a little on each site and some are worse than others. But now I have different responses from Google, so it looks as if it wasn't it.

Confusion, confusion...

Nope - I think you'd need to be on the Google staff to know about something like that. The three day delay does seem peculiar.
