Our traffic today from google was a bit down, so I always go to webmaster tools to check to see if anything is showing up as odd. My site was listed as Unverified.

Snagged their code for the meta tag verification and compared it to my files and it was totally different.

I've had this site in WMT since it started and the tag has always been the same. Now it's different.

Just a heads up to everyone that they may need to check to see if they have the same issue.

Thanks for the report, Bewenched.

If anyone is using their WMT data on a regular basis, then they'll catch any change in verification right away. And if they don't use it regularly, then if they do decide they want the information at some point, they can just re-verify then. At least it's not like an Analytics account, where the site history needs to build up. Google's got the data ready to go as soon as you verify.
