Understanding non-YouTube videos on Google

I noticed that for a certain query, the #1 result has a small thumbnail of a video floating to its left,w ith meta data such as playlength listed as well. The thing is, this is not a youtube video. Its a regular embedded video! Since when does Google read 'normal' videos?

It isn't from the old, pre youtube takeover, "Google Video" by any chance?

I was asking about this the other day:

Guessing that google takes the meta info, such as duration from the actual video file itself. But that is a guess.
