I need to find how many of my competitors are using a certain widget on their site. The only way to tell, would be to search for this source code for the widget.

Anyone know how I can search for all websites that have a specific line of code in their html source code?

Thanks!

This only works for people who submit their code there. I'm talking about searching source code for websites out there....

As far as I know, there is no way to do a search on source code.

Sometimes, if you can search on an identifying character string within the code, Google will display sites that show that string -- and uncharacteristically display mark-up or code within the snippet. However, this is somewhat hit-and-miss, and not a dependably reproducible approach.
