Site cached - but status is 'not indexed' in my WMT

Hi Webmasters!

Why (www.example.com) my site is not getting displayed as indexed in my Webmaster tools account (while submitting my sitemaps)?.

But it is showing that Cached when type "site:example.com"

What could be the reason?

Pls Clarify my doubt

Hi Kiran - How long has it displayed the "not indexed" status? Since it is apparently showing for the site: operator, I frankly wouldn't worry much about the WMT message unless it persists.

WMT has been known to be buggy, and Google's resources at the moment are preoccupied more with rolling out the Caffeine infrastructure.

I'd recommend that you test the indexing further by searching in quotes for some unique text strings, say 5 or 6 words, on your home page.
