Do many visitors bring a site higher in ranking?

Does a site come higher in Google if that site is visited more frequently, or is there no relation at all?

Increased traffic doesn't directly influence a site's ranking on Google (aside from personalized search, which only affects the results for individuals), but more traffic does increase the chance of garnering more links and hence better rankings over time.
